Vilnius Old Town is a labyrinth of cobblestone streets and has many of the over 40 churches and chapels in the greater Vilnius metropolitan area.

One of the first chapels we saw was part of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage network, The Way of St. James, which is still high on my bucket list once I’m fully cleared to travel alone again. Large groups are not allowed to walk through but we could see the beautiful golden chapel through the window.

Universities and art schools are peppered throughout both Old Town and downtown Vilnius, including this arch that used to lead to a monk abbey but now leads to one of the main university buildings.

Vilnius is over 700 years old so many architectural styles and “reuse” of buildings were highlighted on our tour.

This Astoria hotel is prominently featured on many YouTube videos on Vilnius

Neat photo of the Virgin Mary in the window of the chapel
Picture from that far didn’t do it justice. I am putting the Camino back on my bucket list 🙂
